LibreELEC 12.0 has been officially released, featuring Kodi (Omega) v21.0. Notable changes include transitioning several devices to 64-bit architecture, such as Raspberry Pi 4 and 5. Users updating from LibreELEC 11 and utilizing Widevine DRM for protected video add-ons like Netflix will need to reinstall Widevine DRM due to architectural changes. LibreELEC 11.0 installs won't auto-update, and manual updates are required. Raspberry Pi users might need specific configurations for smooth video playback. The Generic image now supports HDR with recent AMD and Intel GPUs, and a Generic-legacy image is introduced for specific needs. Amlogic support for S905, S905X/D, and S912 devices has resumed, with notable improvements in playback and seeking. However, newer Amlogic hardware isn't formally supported due to driver limitations. Users are encouraged to make backups before upgrading, as downgrading is not supported. Support and assistance are available through the project's forum.
